Summary: This is a beautiful hotel with attentive and caring staff. We felt extremely well taken care during our stay - the staff were so accommodating - helping us find restaurants and arranging transportation. The hotel itself is munificent with large comfortable rooms and well-designed public spaces. And, there was a free chocolate tasting in the lobby on the evenings that we were there! It is also conveniently located a short walk from restaurants, shopping, and plazas. While it's always important to stay aware of your surroundings - we felt very safe in this neighborhood. One thing to keep in mind - this is a festive part of town, so occasionally the roads around the hotel were shut down to accommodate bikers and street parties. This part of the charm of the experience; but it also sometimes made transportation to/from the hotel a bit challenging (but not terribly so) . Overall, we couldn't have been happier about our stay here and would absolutely stay again when we are back in Quito. Highly recommended!
